My mum tells stories of how her mum's incredible Spode water pitcher and bowl travelled the seas and made it in (almost) pristine condition to their new home in Sydney. I find it so fascinating how relics have survived travels and turmoil.
 
This still life depicts some of my collection of Willow and Spode. It invites the viewer into the conversation through the use of perspective, celebrating the gathering that is about to take place. Maybe it's the gathering of all the lost pieces of travelled China...
