8am Bondi Beach
Join me for that first sip of black gold at Bondi Beach. This work explores the ritual of morning coffee and capturing a moment suspended between stillness and the morning rush. Is it the moment before, or after? you decide.
The vibrant turquoise espresso machine is a portrait as much as it is a place. It is a nod to Bondi's eclectic energy, with loose, gestural brushwork. I love the stacked plates and glassware suggesting the many people who are about to enjoy their own first sips- I am excited for them! You can almost hear the hum of the clanging cups and the rolling waves.
The works speaks to the intersection of routine and place, where locals and travellers converge. Coffee, like Bondi, is iconic.
Next time, join me!

Inheritance
A quiet homage to the domestic icon that has brewed countless mornings- the Moka pot, or Caffettiera, or Macchinetta.
My caffettiera has been "borrowed" from my mum's house. Pictured imperfectly weathered and unpolished with a beautiful patina of use and memory. How many good strong coffees has this little Macchinetta serviced...
A personal portrait of heritage, history and familiarity but also adopted heritage for many, with the icon's growing popularity.
I recall the offering of espresso from as early as 5 years old around the breakfast table. The smell hits hard- I didn't like it back then, and I didn't accept, unlike my cousins who enjoyed there's with a few teaspoons of sugar. I'd happily accept now. Great memories to cherish.

Brew for One
The gentle meditations of ritual and solitude but doing it with style.
I love Australian native flora and fauna, a reoccurring motif in my work. In this piece, the beautiful banksias and grevilleas make this ordinary moment special. I'll happily get out the Royal Doulton at 1pm just for myself because the moment can be special and healing and enjoyable. And tea tastes better in the "special" cups.
Even tea for one can be special. Next time, join me!

Afternoon with Willow and Spode
I'm obsessed with vintage china, tea sets and dinnerware. Willow, Spode, Delft, and everything in between. My mum tells stories of how her mum's incredible Spode water pitcher and bowl travelled the seas and made it in (almost) pristine condition to their new home in Sydney. I find it so fascinating how relics have survived travels and turmoil.
This still life depicts some of my collection of Willow and Spode. It invites the viewer into the conversation through the use of perspective, celebrating the gathering that is about to take place. Maybe it's the gathering of all the lost pieces of travelled China...

The Tea Table- Jam First
An ode to the layered rituals of tea, where sweetness meets ceremony, and conversation. It captures a moment that feels both familiar and culturally rich: a table dressed in lace, adorned with blue-and-white china, pastries, and the essential debate- jam first or cream? ...It's always Jam first!
Tea is never just tea, it’s a conversation starter, a peace offering, a pause. Around tables like this one, stories are told, secrets shared, silences held.
In this work, the perspective invites you to experience the clink of fine china, the familiar pattern of plates used only for “special occasions,” the act of preparing a table that says “you matter.” It invites you to reflect on the small acts that carry deep meaning and how traditions can bring us home.

Aperitivo Tuscany
Aperitivo, Tuscany captures the golden pause before a long meal, where time stretches and conversation flows as easily as the wine.
Inspired by travels and my own cultural heritage, the composition invites the viewer to take a seat at the table to admire the Italian ritual with a twist of Australian native flora.

Aperitif Saint Germain
Aperitif is a cherished social tradition in France. More than just a pre dinner drink, it's a ritual of slowing down, gathering with friends or family, and whetting the appetite before a meal.

Cereal Killer
Part of the Sugar Rush series, Cereal Killer is a nod to the duality of indulgence and nostalgia. Childhood treats, pop culture icons and memory. It could be an afternoon craving or mid morning- didn't have time to eat breakfast, situation. Morning ritual or crime….? The saturated chaos and distorted perspective suggests this could be a self portrait as much as a still life.

Sugar Rush- Breakfast Syntax
Inspired by childhood memories and times when I could eat all the sugar I wanted. The joy and chaos of sugar. This work is a colourful commentary on the afternoon snack.
This pop food culture sugar rush still life is in my signature exaggerated perspective in an expressive realist style.
Just because I gave up sugar, doesn't mean I actually gave up sugar! painting it anyway. There's plenty of room at my table and they're all zero calories.
